full details below
Following three years of running our own Scilly swimming holidays and collaborating in 2019 with SwimQuest we are offering two options for 2020. Firstly an affordable “BYO” accommodation trip designed to work with the Garrison Campsite on St. Mary’s. If you’d like a bit more comfort we can also help you find B&B or hotel accommodation.
Secondly for those who prefer more luxurious accommodation there’s the SwimQuest trip, based on the privately owned Tresco island. Full details on their website.
Adventure Scilly guided swimming break
New for 2020 we wanted to create a more affordable swimming holiday. The trip is designed to work with the Garrison Campsite just a short walk from St. Mary’s Harbour. On booking the trip we will send details of how to book the camping. If you’d rather stay somewhere more comfortable we can help with that too, there is a range of accommodation nearby.
Explore the clear (and cold!) waters of the Isles of Scilly on a five-night swim break. This Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty is a truly wonderful and rewarding place to swim, with many possibilities across the five inhabited islands and hundreds of other isles and rocky outcrops. Nick will guide you along the coast or across from island to island, accompanying you in a safety boat (along with a second guide & boat depending on numbers swimming).
As well as stunning wild swims you’ll have the opportunity to develop your swim technique with video stroke analysis.

yes, you are! The holidays cater for swimmers of different paces and strengths, however it is important that your basic swim fitness is good, so some regular swim training leading up to the holiday would be useful.
we accommodate all swimmers – distances will vary and everyone will be offered the opportunity to do more or less. The shortest swims will be around 1km and the longest nearer 3-4km (these will be mixed and matched to suit the group, the conditions and the tides).
we would suggest a wetsuit for those not used to open water swimming and would be happy to recommend types/brands. If you do intend to swim without a wetsuit then cold water acclimatisation is important, especially if you only train in a heated pool.
We find Dryrobes to be the most amazing things for Scilly swimming and we have some for emergency use. We love them so much we’ve had a load made up with our logo on them. For an extra £40 you can hire one for the duration of the holiday. You may want to take one home with you so they’re available for sale too. £105 for the short sleeved ones and £140 for the long sleeved. [dryrobe hire]
